Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Twinkies Smoothie

Some of my blogger friends and myself have given ourselves a challenge ...

a challenge of PEANUT BUTTER!

Every month we'll be having a group EVENT involving peanut butter and

how we can use it in our favorite recipes.

We call it The Peanut Butter BASH!!

We hope you'll have some fun with us in our endeavor.

For the month of September we have peanut butter and chocolate as the 2 ingredients we are

challenging ourselves with. In November the second ingredient will be PUMPKIN! YAY.

Do you want to join in on the peanut butter bash fun? If so, email Miranda at

miranda@cookiedoughandovenmitt.com and request to join the

Peanut Butter Bash facebook group!

This month I came up with a SMOOTHIE, a smoothie with peanut butter and chocolate. I've had a

fascination with Twinkies and thought that would make a great ingredient also. It does!

A Smoothie with Peanut Butter and Chocolate and .... Twinkies?

Yep, well, 1/2 of a Twinkie...

Smoothie made with peanut butter, chocolate, and Twinkies

RECIPE FOR Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Twinkies Smoothie

1 c. milk
squirt of chocolate syrup (I used the dark chocolate one)
1 tablespoon of peanut butter (could use Nutella or almond butter)
1 tablespoon Greek yogurt (I put this in to make it healthy) :)
handful of ice cubes - 4 or 5
1 teaspoon of sugar or honey (might not be needed - taste first)
1/2 Twinkie

Place all in a blender and BLEND until smooth and frothy.

Squirt a little chocolate syrup along the sides of the glass and pour in smoothie. Top with a dab of cream (or Cool Whip) and crumble some of the remaining Twinkie on the top. ENJOY!

Mr. Crafts a la Mode had NO PROBLEM at all downing this smoothie. None.

I hope you take a look at some of the other fabulous recipes and including another awesome smoothie...

Happy Fall, everyone!!!

  5. Wow. I just don't know how I feel about this smoothy. I can see the peanut butter and chocolate being delicious, but I don't know about adding the twinkie. Can you taste it? Does it add any flavor to the smoothie or just there for the thrill of "twinkie". I may have to give this a go with Dear Hubby. I know he'd love it, but I'm just a chicken I guess.
