Winter White Wreath with Ice Skates

Painted white frame with girl's ice skates door decoration!

I've seen skates used around the blogs for various decor and I've always wanted to do something with ice skates and here it is!!!

I had spray painted this old, gold frame white before the weather turned so that was all set and I had some winter greens that I bought at Michael's. And I have lots of skates. I still have my husband's and my first skates. We used to skate all the time before all the kids came (4). I still like to go. It depends on the ice around here and for the past few years we don't have much of a window for ice skating. It gets cold and the ice freezes and then first thing you know - it snows and then melts and then the ice is ruined. I've taken the grandkids to the skating rink but, for me, it's not the same as freely skating around a pond in the winter .. it's so lovely.

Let's hope this year we'll get enough cold to freeze the ice (and then warm enough, but still freezing days to enjoy skating). :)

Anyway, here is what I assembled from a frame, a pair of skates,
 and some winter greens (artificial).

I did fool around with that picture by adding some winter snow to it on PicMonkey. It's so fun. They added new winter and Christmas graphics. Very cool indeed, people.

pinecones and greens on a white frame

This wasn't much of a craft. It was more of an assemblage. I just tied the skates together and rested them on the top of the white frame.

I wired on the greens (they already had the pinecones on them) and that's it.

There are 4 green sprays on the top of the frame.

Happy Christmas Season, everyone.

  1. This is sweet! Sometimes simple things are some of the best.

I once tried ice skating years ago- out on a pond, but the skates were borrowed and too big. It was a fun night, but I didn't really skate well. Hope you get good skating weather this winter!

Linda, I hope you Have a Very Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year. xo

    1. Skating is so fun. Not that I skate well but just to glide along. Right now we are in a snowstorm so that kinda kills any ice right there....
