How to Make a Moss Shoe Flower Arrangement

High heeled moss shoe fun...

Michele, niece, made this pretty shoe floral arrangement for Mom’s birthday party. Isn’t this the sweetest?

Floral Shoe

I thought she covered a plastic shoe form with moss herself but she said she bought it like this at Nielson’s Florist where she works.

I don’t see why it can’t be made, though. Michele said it should be made with dyed and dried moss so that it won’t turn that ugly brown color as it ages.

You just need a shoe... a high heeled shoe is nice. Or a little girl’s ballerina shoes?

Then you need the dyed sheet moss.

If I want something to stay on I use Fabri Tac glue. I use it for everything. It’s waterproof and I’ve used it to glue embellishments on clothes and then they went through the washer and dryer like a dream.

Michele put in a little  plastic cup filled with water (I found out the hard way by picking up the shoe and water went everywhere). She did that so she could put in  a little bunch of flowers.  Cool.

She wrapped the flowers with florists’ tape to keep them together first.

The little roses bouquet Michele (niece) put in the shoe.

It makes a unique centerpiece and if you make it with dyed moss it should last also.

My daughter said she saw a moss covered milk crate that was pretty cool and I think moss covered pots would be fun, too.

Have a great night everyone!!
