How to Keep Your Salt Shaker from Getting Clogged and a Tiny Luscious Cake

How to keep your salt shaker from getting clogged in the summer.

Salt

This was my grandmother’s trick.

Salt Shakers

All it takes is a little bit of rice to keep the salt shaker flowing right along all summer. Put about a teaspoon of rice in the salt shaker right along with the salt.

It’s the simple things, isn’t it, that work the best? All natural, too.
Now what to do about the sugar bowl...

I did want to show you a quick cake Michele (niece) and I made that was fast and delicious.

Michele and I had made some cupcakes but we didn’t need that many  so we made cupcakes (I think we made 18 cupcakes) and a little square cake and this is what we did with the little cake.

Cupcakes:

cup cakes

Little cake:

half cakes

We cut it in half and put strawberry jam in the middle:

strawberry preserves

double layer half cake

Folded it over and put confectioner’s sugar on the top.

cake mix small cake

Look yummy?

It was fast and pretty and we put it in the freezer for when company comes... :)

Then Michele and I decorated the cupcakes... It was like having a bonus, getting the little cake, too.

Happy day, Everyone!!
