Blue Hydrangeas and Pretty Pink Eggs

pink and blue

Remember the hydrangeas I spray painted a pretty pink color for the Christmas Tree? Well, I took them off the Christmas tree and stored them for another project.

Tree #1 (480x640) (2)

Then I sprayed painted a few of them for THIS paper feather project:

I still had lots and lots of dried hydrangeas left and I thought I’d do something with them for Easter. I bought the pretty new aqua color spray paint and sprayed all the dried hydrangeas with a really good coating of it, but they were too “blue” (blue is not my favorite color) so I hand painted some pink here and there on the dried blossoms to give them some highlights. It is really so so easy to spray dried hydrangeas. Simplest thing in the world!

I put the hydrangeas in the big white soup tureen bowl but it needed something more.  So I painted some egg shells I  had been saving. ..

And I added some into the hydrangea arrangement.. I kinda got carried away...

I also took some white decorative tissue paper and made some small white round “flowers”.  (I cut a 3 inch circle of tissue and scrunched the middle and hot glued it to a skewer). I also glued some of the eggs on wooden skewers. Others I just tucked into the hydrangeas.

Do you think it came out nicely? It’s a little out of the norm but I’m pretty happy with it.

So happy you could come by and check up on what I’m doing. :)
