Last Picnic of Summer?

Last Spring I bought an old bucket at a tag sale. I remember these in the 70’s and these buckets were used to hold all manner of things from sewing, knitting, toys, and anything really. Well, I had the idea to spiff it up some and then use it for picnicking.
Here’s the bucket and lid. Pretty pathetic, huh?

I could have done the shabby thing and the chalk paint thing but it didn’t happen. I wanted something nice and clean and new looking for a picnic. So I spray painted the bucket with white spray paint. Then I used an electric staple gun to staple on some picnic looking fabric, red gingham what else?

And here it is….

My granddaughter and her friend help show it off along with our Texas rescue dog, Bunny. Looking for food, Faith? Nope. Maybe this weekend…

And here’s the old time match to go with it, the Coleman juice jug. This is old. I remember making Kool Aid in here to take to the beach.

Would this post be complete without a Photos Scape Collage? No. I love making collages in Photo Scape.

Best wishes, my friends, for a lingering summer and summery weather.

  1. Linda,
You have always been so creative...don't know where you get all your energy. It must be from your fabulous mother ! This is lovely, and so you ! xo Carol MacMath

  2. Carol!!!! How wonderful to hear from you!! (To my readers - Carol and I were friends as teenagers. We volunteered at an old age home that the Carmelite Sisters ran here in Connecticut.) My mother is still creative and she's making Victorian Lace pillows again. That hip operation slowed her down for a year but she's back sewing and doing everything again. So glad you could see what I'm up to, Carol. What are YOU up to?
