Flower Pouch

First a picture of a flower arrangement on Mom's dining room table. She arranges all her own flowers and she has lots of flowers around in various areas. Mmmm...maybe I will blog about all her arrangements... that's a thought.
Now for the pouch. I saw a heart pouch on the net somewhere that had a zipper going right through the middle of the front of the pouch. I thought, Wow, that is very cool. So then I was thinking of what other shape might work with the zipper right in the front of the pouch. I had no idea it was going to be a nightmare to design, though. It looks fairly simple, right? NOT. Because of all the different lobes of the flower shapes around the edge and because you need to allow for the turning under of the fabric to accomodate the zipper, the shapes then don't fit right. Well, I ended up fooling around with it until it worked out but it's smaller than I started with - because the lobes of the flower didn't come together right. Okay, you're bored. Anyway, here it is and it is the last of its kind...not going to put myself through that again.

Best wishes and happy Spring - it's so nice here in Connecticut. The last three days have been SO SO SO Springlike. The smell of Spring is euphoric.
