as part of the Twelve Days of Christmas… Six Goodies and Treats
Brownies with Peppermint Bark Frosting
This is really easy if you use a box of brownie mix.
Make the brownies. Melt vanilla chocolate melts and add crushed up candy canes on the top. The hardest part of the whole thing is cutting it up after it’s cooled. Maybe it could be cut when it’s still a bit warm. The chocolate bark is hard to cut because it keeps breaking. You’ll see in the pictures below. These tasted REALLY, REALLY great!
EAT!
Pinecone Cheese Ball
This is another REALLY, REALLY easy recipe for company and it looks FABULOUS!! Obviously, served with the crackers of your choice. I like Town House Crackers.
It kinda looks like a pinecone, doesn’t it? I made this about three years ago and put it on the blog, too, but in those days there were no linky parties and no Pinterest either so it didn’t get seen by many people! It will get seen now. In fact, if you could pin this it would be great. Other people could see how to make it and it is another EASY thing to make for anytime not just for the holidays.
1 - 8 ounce package of cream cheese at room temperature
1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
package of sliced almonds
Work the shredded cheese into the cream cheese and form into the shape of a pinecone. Stick in the almond slices on a slant. Try to make it look like a pinecone because that’s the fun of it!
Fancied Up Dollar Store Shortbread Cookies
You need:
A Box of Dollar Store Shortbread Cookies
Some chocolate melts – melted in the microwave or in a double boiler. With the microwave – BE CAREFUL-too much heat too quickly will kill the chocolate and make it go into a hard lump from which there is no return. It cannot melt if it gets to that point. So slowly melt the chocolate in 15 second increments in the microwave.
The next part is the fun part. Take the cookies and dip them halfway into the chocolate melts and top with crushed candy canes or anything your little heart desires!! There are all kinds of toppings to be had at Joann’s Fabric and Crafts Store or Michael’s Crafts or any candy making supply store.
Hope you enjoyed all these fun, SUPER EASY party treats to make! I did!
Make Christmas memories….
