I found this banjo style straw hat. It has a flat enough surface. However, since it was straw I couldn’t paint directly on it so I cut out an oval from cardboard and painted it and then glued it on the hat. See here.
My granddaughter, Faith, sleeps over a lot since her mother works nights and takes the bus to school from here. I leave her messages on the chalkboard straw hat! How fun is that?
I put the chalks around the rim of the hat and it stays on the kitchen counter.
I used Rust Oleum Chalkboard paint.

I have something else to show you that I painted with chalkboard paint but that’s for another post.
Have you been having Summer Fun? If so, what? Swimming, boating, fishing? My brother bought a new boat. Can’t wait to see it and go out in it.
Happy Summer, people.
Parties I love to visit!
