Handmade Vanity Reveal

I love my new bathroom sink. The upstairs bathroom sink, that is. I had this sink in the garage for a long time, but no vanity so I asked Michael, nephew – the furniture maker boy – to see if he could make a base for this sink. I LOVE the way it turned out. It’s SO SO BEAUTIFUL. And it has an old-fashioned feel to it, too. See what you think.
We had the sink top. We just didn’t have a base. I told Michael I would be happy if it just had the 4 legs to hold it up but he said it had to be something better than that. And here is what he did. It’s gorgeous.
Here is the sink top:

Michael not only added legs but added a board across the front and the sides to make it look more professional. As he would say, he didn’t want it to look like a “hack job”.

I bought the legs at Lowe’s.

Mike was a little concerned about the pipes showing, but I think it gives an old fashioned feel to the bathroom. I’m loving it.

046 (800x600)
And these flowers I bought at the Hartford Garden Show last year. I had it on the door and it fell and the little hook in the back broke off so I sat it on the vanity and it’s like a brand new item. Yay. I keep looking at it. It’s so pretty.

We’re getting a new header soon by Jamie of the Letter 4. I can’t wait!
Best wishes for Spring happiness…

  5. Mike did a great job! A white bathroom looks cleaner to me than in any other color. And your flowers, while adding even more freshness, add the romantic flair that goes with the vanity. Beautiful!

  7. wow, can I borrow you nephew? He sure does really good work. It looks really great, and I also like the pipes underneath. Love the flowers on the sink, and pop against the white background. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration, and nephews, at Sunday's Best!

  11. Wow. I love this. Maybe I'm out of it, but I've never seen the pipes painted like this and I really like it. Can you tell me where you got the sink top?

  12. You could always skirt the sink when you get tired of the pipes, and then fill baskets underneath for extra storage.
