Easter Bunny Gift Bags DIY from Mailing Envelopes

DIY Bunny Easter Gift Bags Made from White Envelopes

(instead of buying expensive baskets)!

Feliz Navidad...........    (just checking to see if everyone is paying attention). Ha ha

Here is the tutorial for making these bags in pictures:

Take these padded mailing envelopes - very sturdy ... I bought them at Staples:

Cut the flap off:

Fold over the end and glue:

Find a pattern of a bunny head (I adapted one from a picture I found). Hot glue on the front of the bag.

Push in the corner:

With one hand inside the bag, pinch in the corner:

Glue the corners and hold until set. Do the other corner the same way. Try to get both corners about the same.

Bottom of the bag made in a flash. Now it will hold more and sit flat.

Time for the handles... pretty and colorful ribbon.

Hot glue the handles in place.

Bag done:

I added some bows on the ears for the girl bunnies and a bow tie for the boy bunnies.

To personalize the bags a little I affixed their picture on the back of the bag (it's easy for them to identify the right bag also). I added colorful tissue paper in the bag instead of the Easter grass (that makes a mess wherever it is).

Candy inside the bag...

Simple. I made 7 bags in not time at all. The kids - my grandkids, my niece's kids - usually get an Easter basket from me but this is much more personal.

I think they'll like them.

  4. I like these a LOT! I think they'd be very sturdy too, besides so cute. And when you spend less on the basket, there's more money for candy and toys!
