What to do With Old Jewelry - Part 3

This is the 3rd post on What to do with Old Jewelry. What to do with Old Jewelry Part  1Turn Your Old Jewelry into Amazing Hair Adornments, Part 2 in the What to do With Old Jewelry Series.
Here are some necklace tiebacks. These aren’t the old old Jewelry. They might be 10 years old but I haven’t worn them in a long time so I thought it was okay to include in this collection and they are so darn PRETTY. Aren’t they?

Old Necklace - new use

I’ve had a lot of fun finding out what to do with old jewelry. I’ve gotten quite a few pieces of old jewelry, including many pairs of large, old, clip on earrings at tag sales. They are a rich source of old jewelry to be sure and the prices are usually pretty reasonable. I was able to buy the large earrings for 50 cents a pair!! Then we use them in many ways. Here are some of the ways that we have used old jewelry. Old jewelry and lace go so well together, don’t you agree?

Here is SOME of my stash.

My mother uses this old jewelry on her Victorian Lace Pillows. We always decorated the lace pillows with rose buds and bows but then we started using beautiful old brooches and earrings. What a step up it was.

This was a Christmas pillow.. See the pretty, old piece of jewelry on the handmade lace rose I made? Those roses were a boon also. This is how I made them. I  ruffled some lace and turned it around in a circle and glued it so that it wouldn’t come apart. Glue on piece of jewelry. Done!

I wanted to feature some of the great, big earrings so I found some little, tiny frames at my Mom’s that she didn’t particularly want. Aren’t these cute in the tiny frames?

Putting jewels on little pots fancies them up...

Have no idea what to do with this. It’s a flower I made from a painter’s drop cloth. That stuff is nice to work with and it doesn’t smell like burlap! One side of the drop cloth is plastic, too. I love the stuff.
What could I do with this?

Thanks for viewing, everybody. Tell me how you’ve used old jewelry also!

  1. Beautiful pillows! You could use the flower on a shopping tote, as a pinback for a curtain, put a tack behind it and use on a bulletin board, glue a magnet to the back and use on the fridge, on a headband, as a wristlet, ... You gave me so many ideas just looking at it!
