Favorite Things Party

My sister and I are extremely excited about co-hosting the
Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop Linky Party at Katherine's Corner.
Thank you, Katherine, for inviting us to participate in this wonderful party. You know how much I
love your blog and have been joining in every Thursday!
Now WE get to co-host the party!
 How wonderful is that?
Right now my favorite things are PUMPKINS!!
When I went to my sister's house in Pennsylvania this past weekend,
we worked on making fabric pumpkins. I love being with my sister
because it is one big craft fest when I'm there. This weekend was no exception and
I came back to Connecticut with several new fabric pumpkins and
lots of pictures of them for the blog.

Here is a green gingham "pumpkin" that we made.
I make them by cutting out a large circle, for this pumpkin about a 24 inch circle. Then I take a large running stitch along the top and pull the thread. It makes the fabric all gathered at the top and then
I just fill it with polyfil  and sew it closed. I add a cut twig for a stem and some artificial leaves.
That's all there is to it. So, of course, I kept making
them all weekend. Everyone will get to see them on our blog
over the course of the next month.

Now let's get on with our Favorite Things Blog Hop.
This party stays open until midnight on Saturday.

  18. Oh my gosh this post brought back great memories of making these pumpkins with my Girl Scout troop when my daughters were in grade school.

I still have their pumpkins! Your gingham one is adorable; nicely done. Way nicer than the ones done by the 4th graders in my troop those many years ago! :-)

    thanks for co-hosting ... Cass

  20. Just love your unique gingham pumpkin and I reckon a group photo of all the others you made would make a lovely photo. I wonder what collective noun you would give your group of pumpkins? Because I'm an over thinker I need to give this some thought. TFS your lovely blog.

  26. Linda, I was about to link, but I noticed the linky is now closed. I thought this was open all month. Hmmm...I guess I've been partying a bit too much, huh. ;) Maybe I got it mixed up with your button, 30 Days of Pumpkins. :)
    Hugs,
