Pretty Container for Plants

Hi, everyone! Is this beautiful Spring weather, or what? I’m just reveling in this gorgeous weather.
I saw these pretty arrangements for sale before Easter at Stop and Shop and had to take a picture. I didn’t want to buy them – they were $29. That was way too much money.  Now if I can buy the boxes for $10. and my sister and I  buy 10 or 15 of them (we can’t just make one – we’d have to make enough to give to everyone in the family, of course), buy all the plants to go in them, and the moss, etc.  it would only cost about $250.
Don’t laugh. We’ve done it. We’ve spent a lot of money making things we were too cheap to buy in the first place and then spent WAY more money because we couldn’t make just 2. “Once we get started, we kinda go overboard and keep going. Oh, but it’s not me…no…it’s my sister. She’s the one with the OCD. :)
The moral of the story? If you like it, buy it..even if you CAN make it. It’s probably going to be lots cheaper in the end.

I love this idea. It would be beautiful in the center of a table.

I like the shabby chic look also.

And, of course, you change the picture to one of your own.
What a gift for Mother’s Day, too.

I should have bought one. Dang.

Beautiful Day to all… Linda

  9. Linda,
That is a pretty box. I had to laugh when reading your post because I sometimes do the same thing..where it would be cheaper for me just to buy the item instead of making it. My husbands always just laughs when I tell him "I think I'll make so and so".
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving sweet comments and also following~I'm now following yours to see what other great crafts you come up with.

  11. I agree I often find making it myself can end up more costly than purchasing the already made item. But you can't put a price on fun and a gift made yourself. Thanks for visiting my blog as co-host of Katherine's Corner blog hop it's been a pleasure visiting. Following back.
