Palm Sunday Palms

Naturally, I had to find something to do with the palms I picked up yesterday at church.
Here is cross made from Palm Sunday palms. I found this tutorial on the internet: It was easy to do.
You can find the tutorial HERE:

This cross I have been making since I was a kid.  A nun taught me how to do this….Sister Margaret Patrick.  I always make some of these and give them out to relatives.

And, finally, I tried making this beautiful crown of thorns

But it didn’t happen.  Even the picture I took of it didn’t come out good enough to put on the blog. Oh, well.
One problem with working with palms is that they dry out incredibly fast. Today they are all dried up and unworkable. Even by last night the palms were a little dryer than they should be to work with.
So there you go.
Blessed Easter Season to all. Linda

  1. We used to get these at church but not anymore. The crown of thorns must be difficult to make, so don't feel badly about it.

  2. I am amazed with the palm cross but the crown of thorns is totally unique. Happy Easter. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
